The Computer Society of Zambia (CSZ) is professional forum for persons and organizations directly or closely involved in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in
Zambia. It is a non-profit making organization and whose
membership is open to any person or organization irrespective of nationality, religion, indiscrimination, race or sex associated with
ICT.
Considering the
importance of ICTs row in human life, it is believed that ICTs are
supporting ¾ of human life, which means it has reached a stage
where sensitization should be done even at grassroots so that they
are accorded with a chance of understanding its use and
applications.
To provide guidance and direction to members and to all professionals in the informatics and information technology industry. The Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct are a statement of principles to wish every professional should subscribe. The purpose of these are:
To promote professionalism among information technology practitioners; and
To protect the public from unethical practices. The Code of Ethics and the Standards is enforceable through the Disciplinary Committee; this means that extreme violations and/or repeated violations can result in expulsion from the Society.
